Frisky Disco

DEVELOPING A BRAND THAT BRINGS DISCO TO THE MODERN AGE

2020

CLIENT — Frisky Disco

FOCUS — Branding, Graphic Design

ASK

Frisky Disco is a local Australian DJ, who performs at and manages entertainment for large tourism group, Day 8. To align with a new musical direction, Frisky Disco needed a new identity. We were tasked with developing all branding.

THINKING

DJ's typically fall into a trap of cliches, with branding often showing inconsistencies with their output, or a tendency to lean on one logo, and have that distributed across various posters, graphics and artwork, diluting the brand.

SOLUTION

We wanted to come up with a recognisable identity that could be used consistently across many mediums, one that accurately depicted the change in musical style from bass heavy, to vibrant disco/house. The 'discohead' moniker is a unique piece with the intention of being able to be used as a stand-alone piece and feature of most brand artworks. To ensure brand consistency across all uses, we wanted to allow the artist to create his own designs. To do this, we set up branded templates within user friendly design tool, Canva. This allows him to release on-brand imagery each time he has an announcement, new song or event.

DESIGN — Tomas Ryan

FROM THE CLIENT

This is unreal, I love everything about it. Tom is a very talented designer and helped craft a vision that greatly exceeded expectations for my brand. LITTLEMIDDLE put the extra effort in to ensure that I wasn't just left with a logo. They helped educate me on what my brand would need and how I could maintain it's integrity though-out its lifespan. I don't use adobe design software but have used Canva, so they were able to create templates for me that I am able to adjust myself, rather than have to pay for a designer every-time. Having this level of support and being put first is refreshing to see from an agency. I would highly recommend them for any personal branding work.
